Report: Potanin’s ex-wife files 849 bln rbl suit vs former husband

MOSCOW, May 23 (PRIME) -- Natalya Potanina, ex-wife of one of Russia’s richest tycoons Vladimir Potanin, has filed an 849.2 billion ruble suit against her former husband, U.S. magazine Forbes reported on Tuesday citing a copy of the claim.

According to data of Forbes, Potanina asked the court to recognize as common property and share between the marriage partners shares in foreign companies Pharanco, Bektanco, Decoso and Lovenco, as well as rights to trustees of shares of these companies. She also wants to divide rights for shares in metals giant Norilsk Nickel and precious metals producer Polyus, and to collect compensation for the stakes from Potanin.

In June 2016, the Presnensky District Court of Moscow made a decision adjudging a 406.9 square meter flat in Moscow and the Chapel of St. Tamara in Moscow Region’s Anosino to Potanin, while his ex-wife received a 375 million ruble compensation for the flat and three land sites with household buildings in the Moscow Region. She also tried to get parts of Potanin’s stakes in Norilsk Nickel and Interros, but lost trials in all courts including the Supreme Court.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the wealth of Potanin amounted to U.S. $15.8 billion as of May 3. Potanin’s main asset is 30.3% in Norilsk Nickel. He also owned 37% in Polyus earlier, but sold the stake in 2009 to Suleiman Kerimov.
